For 61 years, Toyota has been a part of American culture through their assortment of family-oriented vehicles. The automaker has manufactured vehicles in America for 33 years, and out of the nearly 2.5 million Toyotas sold in the United States in 2018, over half were made in America.
Toyota’s presence in America has led to a $27.3B investment back into the country. 10 automotive plants and nearly 1,500 Toyota and Lexus dealers across the nation have provided work for more than 179,000 people. In Pennsylvania alone, Toyota has created 5,394 jobs through their dealerships.
So far, Toyota has built 27.6 million vehicles in the U.S. 116,000 of those American-built Toyota vehicles were exported to a total of 32 countries. 15 hybrid models are now on American streets and Toyota has 12 sites with certified wildlife habitat conservation programs. In total, Toyota has created over 470,000 jobs in the USA.
