When it’s time to clean your Toyota vehicle you probably forget about one small part — the license plate. Your license plate can get just as dirty as the rest of your car, so it deserves some attention.
Gather the proper tools and materials before you get you started. These tools include things you might already have on hand, like a rag, a screwdriver or wrench, and a sponge. You’ll also need petroleum jelly, car wax, bug solvent, soapy warm water, and sticker solvent.
The first step to cleaning your license plate is to remove it from your car. Next you’ll need to place the plate in a bucket of soapy water and let it soak for a bit.
Once it has soaked long enough, scrub it with a sponge and use the bug solvent to remove any insect splatters. The sticker solvent can be used to remove any old sticker residue, but you need to make sure the current stickers aren’t harmed.
Next, clean the frame following the same steps as above. Finally, apply some automotive wax to the plate so it’s easier to keep it clean.
